Together, the clinics have the capacity to provide primary health care services to around 45, 000 civilians per year, and are being deployed in the provinces Diyala, Ninnawa and Salah al-Din.
To ensure the clinics are sustainable and effective, local medical and technical staff took part in a ‘Train the Trainers’ capacity building course. They were taught how to use the clinics’ technical equipment – including inflatable tents, generators, water treatment and the electrical system.
Chargé d´Affaires of the German Embassy in Baghdad, Milan Simandl, thanked the Prime Minister’s Office, the Ministry of Health and the National Operation Centre (NOC) and representatives of the provinces for their excellent support in preparing and implementing the deployment of the clinics – and with such a high degree of commitment.
