Austria has been a reliable member of the Coalition since its inception in 2014 and remains firmly committed to combatting terrorism in all its forms. We stand ready to defend the values of our democratic society and the inalienable rights and freedoms of our citizens. Cooperation among the members of the Coalition is an indispensable cornerstone for Austria to successfully fight against international terrorism.
To this end, Austria actively associates itself with the goals of the alliance, in particular with providing on-site humanitarian assistance. Austria’s thematic focus lies primarily with the stabilisation of areas liberated from Daesh and with actions against Foreign Terrorist Fighters. With a contribution of 1.5 million euros in humanitarian assistance in 2023, Austria has provided over 20 million euros to support the humanitarian situation in Iraq since 2012.
