New Zealand has been a member of the Global Coalition since the Coalition was formed in September 2014 and has taken an active role to ensure that neither New Zealand, nor other regional partners, are sources of, or destinations for, terrorism.

We are firm in our agreement that the joint Australian and New Zealand contributions to the Building Partner Capacity mission in Iraq are significant in helping restore Iraqi military capability and supporting longer term stability in Iraq.
