With the support of the US government, BiH personnel have also deployed to Iraq to assist Iraqi government efforts destroying and removing unexploded ordnance (UXO) from areas liberated from Daesh. During its deployment, the UXO Unit destroyed 350,000 pieces of unexploded ordnances.[l1]
Bosnia and Herzegovina’s contribution to the international community’s efforts to combat terrorism is led by the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces and is rooted in BiH’s partnership with NATO, under NATO’s Partnership for Peace programme. Its shared initiatives include:
Participation in courses, workshops, and conferences addressing counter-terrorism;
Training and exercises related to the fight against terrorism together with EUFOR and in partnership with the Peace Support Operations Training Centre.[l2]
