Foreign Terrorist Fighter Flows Decline Over Past Year

The Global Coalition’s efforts are helping stem the flow of foreign terrorist fighters (FTF) and reducing the availability of fighters Daesh can draw from to replenish its declining ranks pressured on the battlefield. Turkey’s Critical Role in the Global Coalition

Albania is a strong supporter of the Global Coalition to counter Daesh and is committed to contributing to global efforts in the fight against terrorism.

Following President Obama’s announcement of the formation of an international coalition to defeat Daesh in September 2014, Albania was among the first countries to respond and to engage in the fight against Daesh through its contributions to the Coalition. From August to December 2014, Albania donated four sizeable tranches of weapons and ammunitions to Peshmerga forces in northern Iraq to support them in the fight against Daesh.
